June Whisky round up.

We’ve added a few more venues to our places to drink whisky in Sheffield this month. Hopefully we’ll be getting round a few more places and updating the lists as we do so. In the meantime if you know of places that stock some quality whisky then let us know and we’ll add it to our list.

After a lot of tasting events in May, June has been a little quieter. The Broadfield on Abbeydale Rd, The Blake in Walkely, The Sheaf View in Heeley and the Rising Sun in Fulwood all hosted their regular whisky tasting events.

The Broadfield hosted an Islay tasting with Ardbeg Uigeadail being a firm favourite on the night. They even tried out some whisky and cheese tasting. Whisky and cheese was also on the cards at the Rising Sun too. We’re still waiting to hear what showed well. The Sheaf View hosted a Japanese tasting  with Nikka All Malt and Yoichi 15 being winners. The Blake Hotel had an American tasting evening right at the end of June (to try to tie in with 4th July perhaps?). Their tasting concentrated on the craft distilling movement in America and showed some unique takes on whisky with the Balcones Baby Blue Corn Whisky being a huge hit.

We’re in the process of editing down some articles that have been sent to us and and soon as that’s been done we’ll get them posted up. In the meantime you can follow us on facebook for more up-to-date info and news, especially regarding tasting events.
